Feeding the Hungry


Project: Distribute food to underserved families at Sam Houston Elementary School in Conroe.

Montgomery County Food Bank’s (MCFB) Food Distributions delivers nutritious food, including fresh produce and refrigerated items, directly to communities with a high need.

Family-friendly activity

Serve time: 9:00 a.m. – noon

Total number of volunteers needed: 30

Children ages 7 years and up may participate

Volunteers will:

  • Set up food distribution stations
  • Register recipients
  • Provide a friendly welcome
  • Place food boxes into cars
  • Pray with families
  • Clean up parking area after distribution is over

DETAILS

  • 8:00 a.m.: Arrive at Sam Houston Elementary School
  • Address: 1000 N. Thompson St., Conroe TX 77301
  • Park in the lot at the front of the school and walk around to the back of the school for the food distribution
  • Bring work gloves and water. You will be glad that you have them!

Serve Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Total number of volunteers needed: 20

Family Friendly Activity – children ages 7 and older

Child care is not provided for this on-site activity.

A fee of $10.00 per person participating in Serve It Up is requested to help cover the cost of the materials for projects.
